Hofburg Palace

Nell’interno della Hofburg (ingresso dal cortile degli Svizzeri), si trova la Schatzkammer, ovvero la Camera del Tesoro Imperiale che raccoglie il tesoro sacro e profano degli Asburgo. Il Museo custodisce oggetti di inestimabile valore.



Duomo di Santo Stefano

La cattedrale di Santo Stefano è un opera di alta ingegneria gotica. Dall'alto del suo campanile si può ammirare la splendida Vienna!. Il tetto è costituito da tegole decorate e colorate in 4 tonalità verde bianco ocra e grigio lavagna. Incredibile la minuziosa precisione delle decorazioni interne dal pulpito alle balaustre finemente cesellate. La visita completa si può effettuare terminata la messa.
Prima è possibile visitare il campanile l'unico a pagamento ( bambini gratis) e una volta saliti è possibile come ricordo stamparsi al prezzo di 1 € una medaglia con l'immagine della Cattedrale.

Museo di Storia dell'Arte

Il museo, oltre ad essere un capolavoro mozzafiato a livello architettonico, espone al suo interno opere di Klimt, Bellini, Lotto, Tintoretto, Canova, Caravaggio, Mantegna e tantissimi altri artisti italiani e non. Oltre ai dipinti sono presenti anche la collezione egizia orientale e la collezione delle antichità romane e greche.
I prezzi sono davvero ottimali per studenti e giovani. Una cosa che nessuno sa è che con il biglietto acquistato al museo è compreso nel prezzo quello del museo delle armature/sculture/strumenti musicali antichi nella zona di Hofburg, vicino alla Libreria Nazionale!


Museo dell'Albertina

Bellissimo museo al centro di Vienna super consigliato. Gli fu dato questo nome nel 1921 in onore dell'arciduca Alberto di Sassonia la cui statua si trova nella piazza antistante, genero di Maria Teresa, fondatore della collezione e grande appassionato di cultura. Al suo interno vi si trovano opere di Picasso, Monet, Degas, Cesanne, Matisse e tante altre meraviglie. Molto bella e interessante anche la mostra fotografica al piano terra. Costo biglietto €.12,00; chiude alle ore 18.00 e il mercoledì alle ore 21,00. A coronamento della collezione consiglio di visitare il museo situato negli spazi espositivi del Belvedere!

Il Prater

 E va bene, dopo tutte le visite ai musei e ai monumenti della città un bel giretto al Prater di Vienna non si nega a nessuno! Il famoso parco nel centro della città tanto caro ai viennesi che affollano i suoi prati e i suoi viali alberati disseminati di caffè, ristoranti e chioschi è considerato uno dei dieci parchi cittadini più belli del mondo.
Un tempo riserva di caccia imperiale, oggi il cosiddetto “Prater verde” è il luogo ideale per passaeggiare, fare jogging, andare in bici o girarlo in lungo e in largo con il piccolo trenino Liliputbahn. La parte iniziale è occupata dal Volksprater anche detto “Würstelprater”(dal nome di una popolare maschera viennese), il grande parco dei divertimenti con oltre 250 attrazioni (si va dalle nostalgiche montagne russe all’ultamoderno simulatore di volo passando per il trenino dell’orrore, l’ottovolante coperto, l’intramontabile teatrino delle marionette, e persino un museo delle cere), sulle quali “svetta” la celebre Riesenrad, la ruota panoramica, inaugurata nel 1897 (e risistemata nel 2008) e divenuta uno dei simboli di Vienna, la quale permette di godere di una bella vista sulla città da un’altezza di quasi 65 metri. Non si può dire di essere stati a Vienna se non si sale sulla Grande Ruota! Vicino alla ruota si trova il Planetarium che grazie allo speciale proiettore a raggi laser, concede a grandi e bambini fantastici viaggi nel cielo stellato.

Il mondo di Hundertwasser

I lavori di costruzione sono iniziati nell' agosto del 1983 e terminati nell'ottobre del 1985, progettata dall' architetto Hundertwasser. E' facilmente raggiungibile dal centro, fermata metro Schwedenplatz, da li tram 1 direzione Prater, fermata Hetztgasse.
Consiglio di vederla perchè è molto particolare. Colpisce la presenza di colori, pezzi di mosaico e vetri sparsi quà e là. Sul tetto si possono vedere le cosidette cupole a cipolla. 
Un' altra caratteristica di questa casa è la presenza di alberi posti sul balcone e tetti. Al di fuori di essa si può notare una cabina inglese. Un' altra caratteristica è l'ondulazione del pavimento. Nello stesso stile troverete anche l 'inceneritore di Spittelau. Si dice che lo stile di Hundertwasser ricorda un pò Gaudi. Vi consiglio di calcolare che per la visita sono sufficienti giusto dieci minuti. In quanto l' edificio è abitato e non si può per tal motivo visitare gli interni.
